Blog Post: Conference Paper
When i first started writing the paper i wanted to write about power because it is my favorite show of all time and even if you say other wise read my essay paper and go to the articles. i mean i can talk about this show for a very long time because i can recap it and it will blow your minds. honestly thought it was just going to be about a show I liked. I’ve watched it before, and to me it was always just entertaining full of drama, crime, and crazy plot twists. But the more I worked on the paper, the more I realized there was a…

Blog post: In-Class Literary Analysis Reflection
Doing the In-Class essay it was honestly at first really scary because when i first did a in class essay i was wasn’t expecting to get the prompt the day off without studying, preparing or even focusing on the task at hand, so i got a lower grade which i expected to be honest. I didn’t have a problem with the essay because we had the full class period to write our in class essay so for me i wasn’t worried because our professor said we can outline find evidence in the chapter and analyze so we can have a better and easier way to write our essay without stressing.…

Blog Post: Piece of Media You Enjoy and Why
One show that i keep on going back to is power, what makes this show stand out is how insane and intense it is. From the very beginning, it pulls you in with strong storylines, so much drama and shocking twists that make you question what will happen next. every episode feels important and the cliffhangers alway leave me wanting more. it’s really the kind of show where you can’t just watch one episode you have to keep going. one of the main reasons why i like power so much is because of the betrayal and the unexpected decisions the characters make. you really never know who trust. characters who…

Blog Post: Eight Bites
Reading the chapter Eight Bites from her body and other parties made me think a lot about how people view their bodies and how hard it is to feel satisfied, even after making big changes. at first, thought the narrator’s decision to get surgery would solve her problems, but the ending shows that it doesn’t. to be honest it really doesn’t solve anything like was it even worth it. the fact of the matter is that she still sees the “creature” of her old body made me realize that the issue was never just physical it was also emotional and mental. One part that stood out to me the most…

Blog Post: Real women have bodies chapter
I enjoyed reading the chapter. It gained my interest because it delved into the societal expectations of women and the development of the narrator’s and Petra’s relationship. it was nice to do a group discussion about the chapter and also provide questions, for me it was hard to come up with questions especially 10 questions because it was hard for me do to ask but i manage to come up with 9 and i tried to make sure that the questions weren’t hard for my classmates. what i like about petra and the narrators relationship is that The narrator feels a deep emotional and romantic connection with Petra. I say…

Blog Post: Op ed
Writing my Op-ed about the documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” was an interesting process that prompted me to reflect deeply on the shows I grew up watching. The initial spark for the idea came from reading articles and learning about the documentary’s focus on the behind-the-scenes aspects of popular Nickelodeon shows. However, I must admit that I really struggled with the difference between rhetorical analysis and an Op-ed. When my professor clarified these concepts, I had an idea that resonated with me—to write about the dark side of television. She was thrilled with my idea, and I dedicated a few days to writing. While I…

Blog Post: Husband Stitch
The Husband Stitch chapter was genuinely intriguing. I was deep into the reading when I realized there was explicit content in the scene. It wasn’t until a class discussion that I noticed it, as the students were discussing it. Honestly, I didn’t recognize it because the words were different. However, this book was a two-way fault. Initially, the woman was obsessed with the man and wanted him to have everything of her, including all of her. It was intense and crazy to read. As a woman, I wouldn’t give all myself to a man, especially one I had just met. I would take my time and not rush things because…

Blog post: Community essay
To be honest, making this essay was incredibly easy for me. I had all the questions I needed, and I was able to write in a logical order. I also had the opportunity to express myself and discuss the significance of the word “community.” Recently, this week, we were in a group so that they could read our first drafts of our papers. When they read mine for the first time, I wasn’t nervous. After they read it, they gave me good and constructive feedback, which I’m accustomed to when it comes to writing a draft essay. Then, I gave my draft to the professor, and they said that my…
